As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 crisis, our families continue to need a lot of reassurance and hand holding. They need to be reminded how blessed they are even if they have lost their job because of the crisis that they are safe here at Family Renew Community. They have a roof over their heads, their lights are on, and they have food in their cabinets. Things that just a short time ago weren’t always there for them.
Some of our parents are taking this time to improve their marketable job skills. One mom while looking for a new job is taking advantage of some of the free online college courses. She was able to get an A+ in a hotel management course. And one dad after losing his job went out and found a new better paying job. Learning firsthand that challenges offer an opportunity to grow and rise above their circumstances. This is something that they learned at Family Renew Community.
How You Can Help
There have been many who have dropped off nonperishable food during our Donation Drops or groups who have provided prepared meals for our families. Or even the local Pizza Hut who provides their extra pizzas twice a week to our DeLand Campus (we are working on the same potential for the other two campuses.) To all of them we say Bless & Thank You!
But we can use your help with cleaning supplies for our families. We need some donations of brooms, mops and cleaning solutions as well as disinfectant wipes. And with the kids home we can always use extra snacks, juice boxes, and cereal. And, if you have some family friendly DVDs that you could donate that would help with some of the boredom of staying home. We’re still limited visitors to our campuses, so if you have items to donate, please call Kenesha in our administrative office between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. at (386) 239-0861 to arrange a safe delivery.
